Weddings and Civil Marriages

Set in Vermont’s Green Mountains, the Black Bear Inn offers a warm and stress-free experience for weddings and elopements. We specialize in ceremonies of 30 people or less; this allows us to focus our attention on you and your very special day. “Vermont Vows” Magazine describes the Black Bear Inn as “..the perfect location for the intimate wedding of your dreams”.

In warm months, ceremonies are held outdoors in our Garden Woods area, with the sounds of nature in the background. At the other times of the year, ceremonies are in front of the stone fireplace in our parlor, with a crackling fire as a backdrop.

All of our packages include a Vermont Marriage License, the wedding ceremony and Justice of the Peace services, two nights lodging, and meals for the couple. Choose a package below that fits your needs and budget, or let us help you to create a customized package. Also ask us about receptions and rehearsal dinners for groups of 30 or less.

Contact Jill, in order for her to assist you with your needs from scheduling to floral and travel arrangements. We will also assist you with Vermont’s seamless marriage license application process, which does not require birth certificates or that the couple apply in-person. We will simply send you a license application to fill out and return to our town office, and the license will be ready upon arrival. We will also schedule a local Justice of the Peace to officiate your ceremony.
